Director Nursing Education and Product Management
Dr. Jennifer Shepherd is a strategic leader at the intersection of nursing, artificial intelligence (AI), and professional development, focusing on transforming nursing workforce development. With a rich background as a direct care provider and clinical leader, she has consistently championed innovative approaches to healthcare delivery and education, ensuring quality and safety for patients and families.
As Director of Nursing Education & Product Management for the American Nurses Enterprise, Dr. Shepherd spearheads AI initiatives to revolutionize nursing education and professional development strategies. Her work emphasizes the integration of advanced technologies to address nursing workforce challenges, improve efficiency, and foster resilience among nursing professionals. Her leadership has been instrumental in creating cutting-edge programs that equip nurses with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in an evolving healthcare landscape.
Dr. Shepherd holds multiple certifications, including nursing professional development and advanced nurse executive credentials from the ANCC, hospice and palliative care certification from the HPNA, and Alumnus status in pediatric critical care from the AACN. She is also Vice President of the Virginia Nurses Association, where she previously served as Commissioner of Workforce Issues and a member of the Capella University School of Nursing and Health Sciences Advisory Board. Additionally, she actively contributes as a clinical team member of the Medical Reserve Corps for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Her academic accomplishments include a Doctor of Nursing Practice in executive leadership and a master's degree in healthcare administration. Her dedication to staying at the forefront of innovation is reflected in her recent academic achievements: Business in the Metaverse Economy from The Wharton School’s Aresty Institute of Executive Education and AI for Learning and Development from 360Learning. She is further advancing her expertise through the AI in Health Care: From Strategies to Implementation Certificate Program at Harvard Medical School.
